Visual Nudge: Generative Content and Earned Trust

When everything can be generated, that which cannot be generated becomes more valuable

The feeds on social media feel very different these days with perfectly worded posts and neatly packaged ideas.. so neat that the formula behind it becomes glaringly visible.

A prompt here and a tweak there and a thoughtful looking post is generated with insightful tone, familiar wisdom and a polished mechanical structure.

But when everything can be generated, that which cannot be generated becomes more valuable. When you read something, it is hard to miss the human connection behind words, the way someone actually thinks, and the texture of a real voice – all signals of authenticity.

The language you use, the words you choose, the arc of your ideas and even your choice of ideas.. these patterns are hard to fake because substance comes, not from knowing things, but from lived experience of executing on what you know.

The other important marker is the trail of the work you shared before AI.. the things you created before AI made it easier to create. The notes, conversations, artifacts, blog posts, sketches and books written in your authentic voice.. This is the work that carries fingerprints of your efforts before AI.

The kind of slow work that involved struggle to create. Thinking, writing, revisiting, doubting, rewriting, and most importantly sharing despite self-doubt.

Like social media, AI also amplifies what is already there. If you create from your lived experience and use AI right, it amplifies substance. Original thought becomes clearer, and so does the noise.

In a way, technology is not the differentiator anymore. Our choices are.
